How to clean an Android phone speaker

The steps are the same on every Android brand. Only the setting names differ.

1

Turn off audio effects

Switch off any equaliser or sound enhancer in Sound settings so the tone plays exactly as generated.

2

Case off, Bluetooth off

Remove the case and disconnect earbuds or speakers so sound plays from the phone itself.

3

Vibrate on, speaker down

Leave Vibrate with the pulses on, hold the bottom edge down and press Start.

4

Test both sides

Many Android phones are stereo, with the earpiece as the second speaker. Check both in the speaker test.

Common Android speaker problems

Moisture alert blocks charging

  • Many phones stop wired charging when the USB-C port is wet.
  • Unplug, let it air-dry, and the alert clears on its own.

No vibration during the cycle

  • Battery saver or a silent profile can block vibration.
  • Tap the page once before pressing Start so the browser allows it.

One side quieter

  • Look for audio balance in Accessibility settings.
  • Then compare Left and Right in the speaker test.

Volume seems capped

  • Some phones have a media volume limiter in Sound settings.
  • Turn it off, then run the cycle again.

Works on every major Android brand

The tool runs in Chrome and most other Android browsers on Google Pixel, Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Vivo, Motorola, Nothing and others. The bottom speaker grille sits next to the USB-C port on almost all of them, and that’s the edge to point down.

Android speaker questions

Chrome works best. Samsung Internet, Firefox and Edge also play the tones; vibration support can vary by browser.

It adds a small shake in time with the pulses. Sound does most of the work, but there’s no harm in leaving it on.

Use whichever you prefer. They work the same way. This tool adds dust, deep clean and test modes.

Try Deep clean once, then the speaker test. If it doesn’t improve, the speaker may need a repair.
